I was wondering, at what price would it be beneficial to use the 10% code or the free shipping?
I know with the cheap stuff-shoes, an outfit, etc, the shipping one is the way to be! But how about the higher priced orders, i.e. the dolls and such.

Just calculate your entire order without shipping.
That's the cost it will be if you use the free shipping code.
Look up what the shipping rate is for your order. Add that amount to the total amount of your order minus 10%.
Pick the lower one.
Sorry I don't have an exact number.
Maybe I will go look at the shipping rates and do some math.

Its more frustrating for me, because they add *gasp* SALES TAX to my order.
I figured I could do the math too, I just didn't know if anyone else figured it out already. (The price cut off)

I think they might add sales tax, before discount. maybe not.
The best thing for you to do is just go online and input your order, use one code and write the total down. Then, close the window before confirming your order.
Input the order again, use the other code, if it is lower buy, if not close the window before confirming and insert the order one more time.
Without sales tax, it is actually pretty easy to figure out.
At $50.01, the shipping is $8.95, and 10% is $5, so the shipping code saves more money
At $110, the shipping is 10.95, but 10% is 11.00, you save 5 cents with the one code
But if you spend 110.01, then the free shipping code is better.
But if you spent $130, shipping is $12.95, and 10% is $13. So still, it's only 5 cents.
If you spend $150, shipping is $12.95, and 10% is $15.
Luckily 10% is really easy to figure out. You just look at the beginning of the number, if it is higher than the shipping price, it's a better deal. Unfortunatly, they seem pretty close for most values.

If you're close to a shipping cut off, but slightly over, it's almost always worth it to take the 10% and drop to the next shipping level. On the other hand, if you're close to a shipping cut off, but just under...take the free shipping.

After $170, it will always be a better deal to take the 10% off.
And mayergirl- I thought they calculated shipping before they took the discounts, so it didn't drop you at all. Or at least I remember that happening on my orders. I'm gonna have to go look.

okay, I just ran a spreadsheet to look at whole dollar amounts (yeah, a bit bored).
This is no tax (sorry- I don't know the NJ rate- if you tell me it, I can run it again)
$110 is the first time it is more cost effective to take the 10% off code, but at $110.01 it goes back to being a better deal to take free shipping.
From $130-$150 it is better to take 10% off, but free shipping at $150.01.
From $170 onward you should take 10% off.
